Your check-in card
How to check your child in and out at the door.
At drop-off and pick-up, hold your card up to the scanner by the door. Wait for the screen to change color and chime. That is what records it.
Green and a rising chime means checked in.
Orange and a falling chime means checked out.
Red means it did not read. Try again, or ask for help.
The scanner makes its own little beep when it sees the card. That beep only means it looked. The color and the chime from the screen are what actually count.
Keep the card on your phone instead
You do not have to carry the paper card. You can keep it in your phone, which means you cannot leave it at home. If you have more than one child here, one card covers all of them.
iPhone
If your iPhone is a 15 Pro or newer and updated to iOS 27, you can put the card in Apple Wallet:
- Take a photo of your paper card, or save the card picture your provider sent you.
- Open Photos and tap that picture.
- Swipe up on it, or tap the i info button.
- Tap Add Pass to Wallet.
- Give it your child's name, then tap Add.
Now open the Wallet app at the door and tap that pass.
On other iPhones running iOS 27, try this instead: open Wallet, tap +, tap Create a Pass, then Create Pass Manually, and hold your paper card in front of the camera when it asks for the code. This one needs the actual paper card in front of you, and it may not be available on every model.
Once the pass is in your Wallet you can share it. Open it, tap the three dots, and send it by message or AirDrop to the other parent or whoever else picks up.
Android
- Open the Google Wallet app.
- Tap Add to Wallet, the + button at the bottom.
- Tap Everything Else.
- If it asks you to accept extra terms, you can decline. Making a pass from a picture of a barcode still works.
- Take a picture of your paper card, or pick the card picture your provider sent you.
- Name it your child's name and tap Add.
Any phone
Simplest option of all: save the card picture to your photos and mark it a favorite. At the door, open Photos, tap Favorites, hold up the screen. No wallet app needed.
Worth knowing: adding the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet sends your child's check-in code to Apple or Google, the same as any loyalty card you save that way. If you would rather that not happen, keep the paper card or just the photo. Both work exactly the same at the door.
If you have more than one child here
One scan covers all of them. After you scan, the screen lists each child with an × next to their name.
- Everyone came together: just walk away, you are done.
- One stayed home: tap × next to that child.
- Picking up only one today: scan, then tap × next to the one who is staying.
Tapped the wrong one? An Undo button appears right where the X was.
If something goes wrong
- Screen stays red: the card may be damaged or deactivated. Tell your provider, they can fix it in seconds.
- Nothing happens at all: tell your provider. They can record the time by hand.
- Lost the card: your provider can print another one.
- Phone screen will not scan: turn your screen brightness up. If it still will not read, the paper card always works.
Your child's check-in record stays on your provider's own tablet. It is not shared with anyone else.
